Centre for Associative Economics

Diploma in Associative Economics

The Centre offers a Diploma in Associative Economics  (Dipl. AE). Student driven as regards timing, content and outcome, the diploma provides a distance-learning possibility, not so much to learn about associative economics in a taught sense, but to demonstrate to oneself and the world that one has understood what associative economics is about, at least in the area one chooses to focus on.

The Diploma covers a wide range of subjects germane to modern economic life - economic history, the evolution and purpose of accounting, the appropriateness of different legal structures, financial management, and so on. Against this background, students choose specific themes and topics, pursued by way of written assignments, presentations and peer group meetings. They are required to complement their work with an in-depth biography of a well-known economist  but seen from an associative point of view.
